 | | Yampa Valley Electric Association, the rural electric co-op that provides electricity to Steamboat Springs, gets 5 percent of its power from renewable sources like wind. Customers who install solar equipment on their homes can also “net meter,” which means that when excess solar electricity is generated on a roof and sent back into YVEA’s grid, customers can bank that usage for future months and ultimately be compensated for it. |
