Transportation

• Free local bus service runs continuously within the city from 7 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. daily during the winter, and 6:40 a.m. to 10:40 p.m. during the summer.

• Yampa Valley Regional Airport is 22 miles west of Steamboat, near Hayden.

• A 10,000-foot runway accommodates jet service with direct flights from Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, La Guardia, Newark, Salt Lake City and Denver.

• Steamboat Springs Airport, aka Bob Adams Field, has a 4,700-foot runway for general aviation.
 
A six-passenger gondola will carry skiers and riders from Trailhead Lodge in the heart of the 47-acre Wildhorse Meadows development to the base of the Steamboat Ski Area. The gondola manufactured by Leitner-Poma of America, Inc., will cover the 2,000-foot distance to and from the base area in four minutes, with a maximum capacity of 340 people per hour.
